Project – Service to Others is a Provincial RTO/ERO program that provides grants to Districts for initiatives that support the concept of “Service to Others”. The intent is to contribute to a variety of community projects and thereby raise the profile of the RTO/ERO by demonstrating to active teachers and to the public that retired teachers care about their communities and about public education, and are willing to help others who need assistance.
Information on the 2012 Project - STO application process and the application forms are available on the Provincial RTO/ERO website. Interested local organizations wishing to apply for a grant should phone (519.979.4094) or email our District 7 President Simone Rickerby. Application forms are due to Simone Rickerby by March 1, 2012. The District 7 Executive will review the applications received and select one of the applications to be submitted to Provincial for review and possible funding. Paramount to the acceptance of an application for a Project Service to Others grant is evidence of the involvement of RTO members in the organization/project.
